Earlier this year, the all-new BMW 5 Series received the Best Designed User Experience from EyesOn Design at the 2017 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The EyesOn Design Awards are the show's officially-sanctioned design awards, and honor the best production and concept vehicles that make their global auto show debut in Detroit.

The seventh-generation 5 Series earned the award thanks to a broad range of technology , including iDrive 6.0 (the new user interface), BMW Gesture Control, improved voice control with natural voice input, a new-generation heads-up display and remote 3D View. Remote Control Parking and advanced driver assistance systems help pave the road towards semi-automated driving.

In a release, Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO of BMW of North America, commented, “BMW has long been a pioneer in advanced Human Machine Interface (HMI) technologies and the new 5 Series brings together everything we have learned in our 100 year history. It is truly an honor to receive this prestigious award from EyesOnDesign for the Best Designed User Experience on the all-new BMW 5 Series.”

The BMW 5 Series will be available at United States dealers starting in February, 2017.
